The ulna and the radius meet at the begining of the wrist, where they are hinged to the other wrist bones. The eight bones that make up the wrist are known as carpals; the metacarpals form the structure of the hand, and the phalanges form the fingers. There are three phalanges in each fingers, except for the thumb, which has two.
